CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Deadline for submitting proposals is  January 25th 2008.

 

The Organizing team of Oman International ELT Conference welcomes proposals for presentations, posters and workshops for the 2008 Conference. All professionals in ELT are invited to contribute.

 

 

The range of topics for the 8th annual conference includes:

  1.  Current trends, models and approaches in the integration of skills

  2. Instructional materials, textbooks, and technologies promoting integration of skills

  3. Advantages and disadvantages of integrating skills in language teaching

  4.  How improvement in one skill can affect the development of other skills

  5.  Practical ideas for helping teachers to integrate language skill

  6. The use of  multimedia and web-based resources in the integrated skills approach

  7. Integrated skills and the use of experiential learning in the ELT classroom

  8. Integrated skills and task-based approaches

  9. The  implementation of an integrated skills approach

Criteria for accepting proposals:

 

  • The topic must have a clear focus

  • The proposal must be relevant to the conference theme

  • The material must have something new to say

  • The  material will have practical use for the audience, and if theoretical, must include consideration for practical applications

  • The proposal must be linguistically clear and accurate

  • The proposal must be submitted within the deadline set for proposal submission. Any proposal submitted after the deadline, will not be considered.

 

 

All presenters will receive free registration for the conference which includes:

  • attending all conference sessions except the certified workshops

  • the conference package

  • a certificate of presentation and attendance

  • free lunches and refreshments for the two days of the conference

  • the conference proceedings (will be sent to presenters after the conference)
